Chlorosulfonic Acid vs. Flower

5 April 2016

Chlorosulfonic acid (or sulfurochloridic acid) is an inorganic compound with the formula HSO3Cl. It is a strong oxidizer and an extremely dangerous acid. It reacts violently with water to produce sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, seen here as vapors fuming from the flower. Contact with bare skin would produce severe burns and inhalation can be fatal.
