Cytotoxic T-cells, also known as Killer T-cells, are T lymphocytes that kill infected, damaged, or cancerous cells in the body. When the T-cell recognizes a specific antigen, it binds to the cell and injects proteins that induce apoptosis (programmed cellular death).
